Bangalore bus crew suspended for allowing standing passengers - Good Enforcement

The crew of a Bangalore Metropolitan transport bus were suspended by the officials for allowing standees in the bus, when there were clear instructions that standees should not be allowed. The reason given by the crew was more of an emotional and adjustment - it was the last bus on the route and they wanted to accommodate the passengers. The least they could have done was to inform the officials about the extra passengers and requested to the officials to send one more bus. Other transport corporations could learn from this enforcement.
On their part, the officials need to ensure that if it is the last bus on the route and there are more passengers than the number allowed, they need to quickly arrange for another bus. This will go well with the passengers as well.
Regarding the enforcement, if all the organizations and agencies enforce the rules of social distancing and masks strictly, then surely the spread of virus can be contained. more

The issue is about the driver/conductor getting senti on the plight of poor passengers wanting to return home on the last bus. We need to have a different view of the situation. What about the role of Corporation Babus who have enjoyed 2 months paid holidays at the expense of tax payers ? Why cant they be at the terminus at least by rotation ? There are hundreds of buses and number of drivers available to put extra buses on the road if there is a demand. All that is required to be done is to be at the site and take plausible actions. Have you ever gone to Majestic , KR Market or Shivajinagar terminals and found any of the Babus on duty ? Instead of punishing the poor bus conductor why not fire the Incharge of the BMTC Terminus ? more
We cannot do anything with the emotions when virus is killing thousands and lakhs. Please maintain discipline for ones own and others safety. I appreciate the action taken by the enforcement team. more
The government has already announced the timings. If they keep making exceptions then there is no point in making rules. What if there are more people when the next bus comes. We don’t know how many extra passengers he took. Also people waiting should know that the government has stipulated the timings and the number of passengers. more
Actually the bus service is for the poor and lower middle class to commute to work . The bus rates are already high in Bengaluru . Guest Labourers may be able to afford , but domestic workers will have to request for monthly passes or the Employer subsidise . more
And now in the buses they have fixed the rate of day pass @70/ per day and poors can not afford to travel. How will these poors( labours, maids ) will travel? more
