ANTI CANCER DRUGS COSTLY DESPITE PRICE CAP – AIDAN {All India Drug Action Network }

& BEYOND THE REACH OF THE POOR , MIDDLE CLASS :

How should the price cap be done , so that the final consumer gets it at affordable price to FACE CANCER HEAD ON .
Yes the Government has started well with reduction of Margin for the distributor and the retailer . It is a good move , we have to thank the Government . But the job of Price Reduction and PROFITEERING was just half done , leaving the Manufacturers of the Hook .

The margins at various levels :
* Profit Margin for the Manufacturer ,
* Margin for the Distributor,
* Margin for the Retailer .
Very often the Nursing homes are availing both the Margins of the Distributor and Retailer .

THE PRESENT PRICE CAP DOES NOT DISTURB THE MARGINS OF COMPANIES MANUFACTURING( OR IMPORTING ), BEFORE THE MEDICINES REACH THE STOCKIEST . AS A RESULT THE CANCER DRUG PRICES ARE STILL HIGH .THE PRICE CAP SHOULD BEGIN FROM THE COST PRICE OF THE MEDICINE( OR THE IMPORTED PRICE) ,PLUS THE MARGIN OF THE MANUFACTURERS ( or the importers price ) opines All India Drug Action Network [ AIDAN].

AIDAN {All India Drug Action Network } opines is that the cap of profiteering on the Manufacturer is not uniform . To substantiate they have given examples that appear in the clippings . more

Medical and education must be in the hands of Govt only. Otherwise only effective law protection and timely judgements in courts can control to some extent. They are confident they can manage. more
It is a fact that the present price cap does not disturb the margins of companies and manufacturers. more
This is both "critical and sensitive" area. Defining "poor" can be relative and also subjective. How to check "hoarding" or "hedging" ? In the previous years the government has worked towards removal of "middlemen" which has helped in bringing down "hoarding" and prices. Continuing future efforts on the same or similar model may help further. more
It is very essential that the price controlled drugs are made available to patients on demand in medical shops. If they are not available then punish the M.D. of the manufacturer for hoarding. Do not give him bail and the law must act swiftly. LICENSE IS GIVEN TO MANUFACTURE AND SELL AND NOT HOARD. TREATMENT AND CURE ARE THE NED OF THE DAY PLEASE. more
