Airplane door blowing off mid air/flight

A door plug blew up in an Alaska Air plan leading to an airplane fuselage/bodynpanel coming off mid air in a Boeing 737 max. Luckily no one was sitting in rows 25/26.

Though I am not a weekly LocalCircles users i do remember seeing the above survey that talked about safety issues.

Can I request the LC Manager to do a fresh safety survey. Airlines like Spicejet and Akasa have the same 737 planes and are not best maintainers and Spicejet atleast has been cash strapped which means compromising or postponing maintenance

In case something similar happens in India, we will have issues as flights run full here.

The inspections should be stringent and not a follow up action of US FAA/Boeing. more
Airplane safety needs a serious attention. Once I enquired with an onboard airhostess if the emergency exits are checked after every flight, she was answerless and said would revert after talking to the Pilot, which she never. Not sure if all the airborne safety measures are thoroughly checked before every flight take off? In the Alaska flight, sure enough, safety measures were not checked. more
This post is like "sky is falling" thinking. Max had issues but others have been around. Lets not start panic about this. more
At least 2 and may be 3 nos of 737 Max suffered fro,m the Fuselage blow off. This is a serious issue and the irlines need to stop flying these Aircarfts unless the issue is resolved. more
737 Max has issues with the Pratt and Whitney engines on some models. The newer planes may not be having this issue. We do not know how many of the 737 Max with Indian airline companies have this issue. We do know that Go Air has cited this matter for their going bankrupt. The others have not spoken but would have some planes with engines of concern. The door coming off doesnt seem to have anything to do with the engines. Pratt & Whitney officials say the issue with their engines is a quality control issue and that there is no immediate risk to flight safety. They blame a rare condition in powder metal used to manufacture certain engine parts. The defect is extimated to affect over 1,000 P&W engines made between 2015 and 2021. Airlines have been preferring CFM-LEAP engines on the 737 Max in view of the recurrent troubles with Pratt and Whitney engines. The CFM-LEAP engine is being used since 2017 and now largely powers Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. What came off on the Alaska airlines plane was a door plug. A door plug can be opened only in emergencies, unlike a regular door. Investigation will reveal why the door plug came off since by design they cannot be removed unless someone opens them. We do not know how many aircraft in the Indian airspace have door plugs in safety exits. Maintenance and service has always been a issue with Indian airline companies who believe in flying planes with as few breaks as possible. They also tend to stretch maintenance budgets and defer overhaul and scheduled replacements. So little is known about it that only airline staff and crew could say what the status is. more
