Advise from a Doctor friend on Covishield

If you or a loved one are eligible for the second AstraZeneca dose at four weeks take it now instead of waiting. Why?
1. That’s how the clinical trials were designed and approved.
2. Don’t go around with suboptimal antibody amounts. Boost your immune response faster.

the UK made a calculated decision to increase the interval between doses to get more people partially vaccinated. If there is no scarcity and one is available to you on the date you are supposed to get it, then get it!

The first dose prepares (primes) immune memory for attack.
The second dose boosts it.
Most important: take both doses. Even if you miss the prefered window, take the second dose ASAP.

AstraZeneca- 76%
After two doses- 83%

But it's not just risk reduction. Protection is longer after the second dose too. more

Dear V.G.thisis the tme the whole nation including professionals are confused about the gaps between the doses. U.K. is the nation that had come out with Vaccine as Sanjeevani in record time. That had relieved many aged and others on the Nation. Normally it takes 4 to 5 years for a Vaccine to be released for public use. Keeping the prevaing situation and the nature of the Virus every thing is speeded up. Youa s a Doctor tell how areyou going to space the gap please. more
The author is simply trying to get some media attention. I’m sending his post to the Indian Medical Association and the Health Minister. He should be arrested immediately before he spreads further false rumors. more
What you’re doing is simply creating a fear psychosis. Stop this. What your friend’s (the do called anonymous doctor) credentials? more
The advice to increase the interval for the second shot of Covishield is based on findings & recommendations of a top level panel of experts advising the Govt. I doubt that your doctor friend is mote qualified than the panel to give a counter advice. I would strongly urge you stop spreading such ill informed advice. Plz consider deleting your post. more
