Addressing Water Logging in Delhi
Water-Logging in drainage becomes one of the biggest issues in the capital, especially during monsoons and creates a ruckus in the life of the common man living in Delhi.
The Delhi Govt. is working to ensure that the position improves drastically this monsoon and the strategy for tackling water logging problem consists of:
(i) De-silting of Drains,
(ii) Improvement to Drainage at Vulnerable Locations,
(iii) Pumping,
(iv) Improvement & Upgradation of Drains &
(v) Mechanical Desilting using Super-sucker.
(vi) Control Room and Mobile Vans.

Every road has proper drainage system. It gets closed by sweepings ststaff. They sweep the road and put into the inlet of drainage water? more

Mostly of the actions mentioned are usually in the scope of corporations who has never done enough. It will be good if Delhi government is trying to resolve it. Apart from the items listed, I would like to mention some more causes of the water logging: 1. The sweepers should be educated and the supervisors shoudl ensure that the garbage is not pushed inside the entry point of storm sewers on the road. 2. The vulnerable state of the roads also result in heave water logging in many areas 3. Improper slopes and planning especially at the start/end points of the flyovers resulted in lot of water logging, The water gets collected there in between the road and not moved towards the sewer which are located at the sides. Most of the flyovers like the ones at Ashram, Savitri Cinema GK2, Chirag Delhi, IIT Delhi etc. all have this problem. more

Many storm water drains in Sector D, Pocket 2, Vasant Kunj are choked leading to water logging and breeding of mosquitoes. This has to be addressed soon. more

Automatic drainage should work everywhere by having poper slant and water should go in a common reservoirs for recycling more
