I see on some coaches electronic display of INDIAN RAILWAY which does not serve any purpose. Rather this display should be used to display the number of berths or sets vacant in the coach so that wait listed passengers/ passengers with out confirmed seats can enter to that coach only and it will give transparency to the system. more

No, this is not a good idea. There must be emergency quota in every train and it must be allotted in accordance with a legal procedure. The officials dealing with it must ensure its allocation properly. more

After chart preparation coach wise vacacancy of berths to be announced (besides display ai vital points) until 20 minutes before the departure of trains at important stations. Such tickets to be issued at platform counters to avoid manipulation by TTEs. more
