AAP withdraws tainted, laggard candidates. Has any other party done?

NEW DELHI: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) recently dropped five candidates, including three in Uttar Pradesh, after negative internal reports. So far, 15 candidates have been withdrawn by the party.

"We receive daily candidate reports. If we find criminal or corruption charges against any candidate, we will withdraw them even at the last minute like we have done for the Odisha and Bihar candidates. The seat can go uncontested but we will not field tainted people," a senior AAP leader said. The party asked Narendra Mohanty from Kandamal and Ghulam Kundanam from Karakat to withdraw their candidature following pending criminal cases that came under public scrutiny. In Delhi, AAP fielded Rakhi Birla in place of Mahendar Singh from North-West Delhi after a case of his arrest in a case came to light.

THIS IS WHAT AAP STANDS FOR. OTHER PARTIES MIGHT HAVE WITHDRAWN CANDIDATES NOT SUITED TO THE LEADERSHIP BUT NO EXCEPTION OF REMOVING ANY CANDIDATE DUE TO CPRRUPT OR CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES. more

I fully agree with you Sent from BlackBerry® on Airtel more
Rajdeep Ji, If that be the case, I request Mr. Deepak Jain to convey your views to AAP officials for reconsideration based on realities. AAP might not have done indepth study of each case and must have taken decision based on feedback. more
Hi Sunil, I know AAP is working on strict principle, but please do not come under pressure and do a due diligence. For example I can talk about NArendra Mohanty. I salute him for all his work in kandamal. Since he is fighting for the cause of adivasis, so it is quite natural that Police and corrupt people will try to stop him with number of FIR and case against him. So we should make difference between him and people like Papu yadav. By denying ticket to NM, you are proving that he is guilty which he is not. So we should discuss and debate openly before dropping cadidature of such social workers. more
Dear Ranjan sir, So far as Bharti is concerned, Cong- BJP- SP- BSP have hundreds of Bhartis (> 1/3rd) whom people are willing to vote w/o applying their mind. Our decision cannot be based on one exception. Annaji was the face of the aandolan and not the creator of it. Secondly, AK has never ever occurred a single word against Annaji, Kiran Bedi, Baba Ramdev or Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji. He still talks of all of them very respectfully saying that in democracy one can support any party/ leader which they want. Annaji says that he supports Mamtaji since she wears slipper. This is a funny argument to support her b’coz ladies wear slipper naturally even in parties. Just see the language and the offensive words being used by all of them against AK and more so by leaders like Mr. Shinde. And think about Mr. Lovely who first day talks of giving unconditional support to AAP Govt. and next day plans to send AK to Jail and BJP who promises to reduce power tariff by 30% but conspires with Centre to increase power and water rate from 1st April 2014. AK was attacked yesterday for being silent about Muzaffarnagar riots instead of attacking those responsible for causing riots there. more
Dear AAP Team I think Arwind Ji did the only thing which I think was wrong and that was he came foeward to answer each & every question which came against AAP. , this thing could have been done by other leaders also he should have avoide that during being in Power in Delhi. Still I support A.K. Thanks J.P. On Sat, 05 Apr 2014 11:45:14 +0530 wrote > more
