AAP reaction on MCD issue
AAP reaction on MCD issue :

The Aam Aadmi Party challenges the BJP to reveal how its leadership in the three MCDs have spent the money provided to them for payment of salaries of their employees by the Delhi government.

It is a matter of extreme concern that the political leadership of the MCDs have due to their corruption and incompetence turned these civic agencies into dens of corruption.

The poor state of MCDs in Delhi is purely due to the lackadaisical attitude of the elected leadership of Municipal Corporations and the biased attitude of the Central Government.

The Delhi government has fulfilled its obligation as regard to release of both plan and non-plan funds for the current financial year.

Further, Delhi government has already announced a moratorium on the Rs 6,000 crore which the three MCDs owe to it on account of loans given to them over the year. The government has also decided not to seek payment of interest on these loans till further orders.

The MCD failed to give any satisfactory answer before the hon’ble Delhi High Court when it was asked to substantiate its claim on whether the Delhi government owes anything to it for the current financial year.

The position of funds released to the three corporations against Revised Estimates proposed by Government of Delhi is 100 per cent and only for South Delhi Municipal Corporation 20 per cent is remaining which would be given in next 10 days. The education and health sector funds have also been released as per the plan. The government is committed to release arrears if any as per the norms without delay. It is relevant to note that the Corporations are holding unspent balance of about Rs.300 crore under education and health sector.

The state of fund crunch in MCDs is largely due to reasons pertaining to the Central government. DDA refuses to abide by the law of the land and is yet to clear the property tax dues to the Municipal Corporations. The Corporations on the other hand are also not inclined to take steps towards realization of their revenue potential.

The Government of India is yet to implement the recommendations of the Fourth Delhi Finance Commission only after which the government of Delhi will be able to implement the different aspects of the same commission.

Now that Corporations neither have the resources nor any plan or vision to generate resources to meet their committed liabilities it is primarily due to the absolute failure on the part of the elected leadership of the Municipal Corporations. Instead of taking steps to increase internal and external revenues, the Corporations are misleading the public with the impression that the Delhi Government has not released the statutory dues to them. Which is farther from truth.

Aam Aadmi Party assures the MCD staffers and all the stake holders that Delhi government led by Arvind Kejriwal is committed to the welfare of the Municipal Corporations and its staffers but lack of co-operation and initiative of the elected members of the MCD have failed the people of Delhi. more

MCD is known for all possible forms of corruption - public perception. If MCD Mayors and councillors feel that there is no corruption then they must be happy for CAG audit. If CAG gives them clean chit. They will feel proud....If CAG points out some areas of possible corruption, they should again feel obliged that there is a scope for improvement.... God bless us. more
Why public should not support for CBI enquiry or CAG audit of MCD fund management????? more

Bot BJP and Congress will not like AAP to succeed or else there political fortunes will be doomed. In so many years they have developed companionship, whosoever wins will take care of other irrespective of public posture. So its pure political and the smarter one wins. Those blindly support a party are only a tool for such parties. When it suits LG is the Government, Delhi is UT and when it doesn't Delhi Government is responsible. The issue is in courts in various petitions for a long time. Hope for some early decision either way. more
Mr D S Mathur Wrong comment by you. If delhi govt is not calling Mayors then Mayors are intelligent and matured enough to call delhi govt. for the benefit of public. And if mayors are not calling govt then it shows that mayors are also indulged in dirty politics of BJP. Dont blame delhi govt only who have paid all the funds which are spent in wrong way and corrupt practices by MCD. Manish sidodia is crying to public ally put the accounts before janta so that people may know who is right and who is wrong and where the funds have GONE. NOW HIGH COURT IS GOING TO CLEAR THE FACTS. more
