I heard that there is 2% chances of getting swine flu if we take the vaccination. Then is it worth to take the vaccination, since in India chances of getting Swine flu is lesser than 2%? more

Swine flu is viral disease as other viral diseases.just follow simple rules.1.wash your hands regularly 2.drink plenty of fluids 3.avoid crowded places 4.during initial period of infection stay at home and rest 5.vaccination is be given only to people having co morbid conditions like diabetes.copd, heart problems or transplant patients etc 6.keep your surroundings clean. more
No medicine or remedy has chances of 100% cure. Even 98% is good enough. Therefore one must take vaccination. Prevention is better than cure. more
Thanks Sunil for your comment. This makes perfect sense, i will wait till July 2015. more
First some arithmetic. 2% chance of getting with Swine Flu and 98% success rate of fighting Swine Flu if vaccinated. Therefore vaccinated people have a 0.04% chance of getting swine flu as compared to un-vaccinated people who have a 2% chance. Which means the vaccine mitigates the risk by 98% !! Got it? So isn't a vaccine worth the cost and trouble? Only problem is the current vaccine in the market is expiring in April 2015. Moreover, it takes 15 days for the vaccine to become effective. So there appears to be no point in getting vaccinated now. The next vaccine will be released in July 2015 and will cover the mutated strain of the virus of the year 2014-2015. I hope you'll understand what I'm talking about. more
