Unfortunately, elected members has nothing to do with public for 5 years. They are busy in collection and other things not required by the public at large. The drainage system is 100 year old, faulty, full of waste, mud, plastic etc. New designs must be adopted to keep the city working. Till such time we are going to waste lot of mandays, loss of property, loss of life etc more

IMD has consistently failed to give reliable forecast. Why IMD can not give a simplified communication, each district wise every week ? The trouble is that IMD website gives tonnes of data but none that can be used by a lay person. Western countries have evolved a better forecasting system and regularly share them on TV. We may call it as obsession of westerners but in India, we do not even get a simple communication. Skymet and other agencies give information on cloud cover and water content but precipitation depends on atmospheric pressure conditions, formation low pressure zones but IMD will never share this information. Airlines get better prediction of weather, they even know if it is going to rain heavy or moderate rains over next 30 minutes but such information will never be shared with public. The main trouble with IMD is that it has no sense of what administrators or public need. They are too deep scientific but no common sense. Government agencies do not believe in information sharing. If they share information, they will be powerless. That is what they always afraid of. power. No point is announcing on TV channels. With advent of DTH service, even TV transmission fails in heavy rain. Local governments do not believe in sharing warnings, periodic updates on social media like Whatsapp. more

You right Madam. But why do we lose the productive days? Controlling nature and the geographic peculiarities of Mumbai is not possible. But what can be done is controlling Corruption at all levels in BMC coupled with the latest Technological Development, it is possible. Our efforts do not bear fruit because even State Govt. has failed to control the Municipal Councilors because of Party Politics. more
