Pune Junction (PUNE)

Crowded, Dirty, Senior citizens Cart rarely available, poor approach and parking.

WHY...WHY?? Is the Pune Junction so dirty?? The tracks are just a garbage dump with litter strewn along the tracks right from the outskirts of the city? It is a horrible sight..and to think that Pune city is considered to be one of the best cities to work in...waiting for your train means to suffer the smell of excrement. Why can't the railways hire private contractors to get rid of the garbage along the tracks?? PUNE JUNCTION NEEDS A FACE LIFT ON A WAR FOOTING! The residents and visitors to Pune deserve much better.

Pune Railway station has not seen much improvement in last few years.
1- It is always crowded.There is no waiting area.I think Railway Institutes located near station should be relocated to some other place and space utilized for - Ground Floor for Parking,Ist and 2nd Floor for Waiting area and Other floors available should be used for Yatri Niwas.
2- Due to reasons best known to officials it stinks badly despite presence of cleaning contractor personnel.
3- Parking charges are exorbitant. Platform No side Parking charges for two wheeler are Rs 20/- for four hours whereas on platform No. 6 side parking it is Rs.5 only.
2- Pune is big city and another station for long distance trains should be developed with out further delay.

The platforms stink of human shit all the time.....The foot overbridges are so very narrow......and parking on both sides is always a nightmare. One of the worst stations in India.

1. 4w parking - hopeless unorganised 1/5 rating
2. ticket counters - much better when comppared to the rest of the places 4/5
3. platform conditions - always dirty, never maintained, poor flooring, tiny waiting rooms, pathetic toilet conditions 1/5 rating
4. foot over bridge - too narrow, disaster waiting to happen, pity floor conditions, no ramp - mostly steps, 2/5
5. secondary access from rear side - too narrow, no parking, hapazard rickshaw parking, pity state of the flooring
6. display of arrivals and dep - just one in the station - again a bottleneck.
