The only way to have the streets cleaned is to hope for or invite some senior politician to visit the locality. If your lucky and stay in places where the street is used for a public event like Global Investor Meet, the streets are resurfaced, pavements done up and painted and so on. Else, you may as well be staying in some village, where not only the streets are shabby, but the attitude of the local residents is pathetic - throwing garbage, spitting, urinating or letting their cattle on the roads, parking vehicles haphazardly on the already narrow streets, digging the roads at will and leaving the surface uneven, pitching temporary structures for functions - both personal or public - thereby blocking the road, dumping the construction material - both raw material like sand, stone & brick as well as debris ...The list is endless and the local residents powerless and clueless as to whom to approach - more so if you are from another state and cannot speak Kannada !
J P nagar 1st phase. Roads/footpaths cleaned every day in some areas like main roads and once in 2/3 days in some areas like streets/lanes. contractors( sewerage board, electricity board, water supply, cables of diff companies don't lift remaining materials after completing work and don't fill up dug pits properly making it worse for traffic and for walkers.
There is no road cleaning in Cox Town, Doddigunta near Aloysius College. We can find garbage dumps and also lot of debris on the roads. The only day it is clean is when the Corporator or the BBMP top boss comes for inspection. Pathetic !!!!!!
Looks like the BBMP is sleeping. They don't seem to be interested in keeping the city clean. I still see lot of garbage in the roads all over Bangalore.
I have complained about a fused tube iight on 2nd cross, Dinnur Main road, R.T.Nagar, on the 19th July and my complaint no. is 419, Even though a month is about elapse, no action has been taken by the BBMP till date. My repeated requests only get me a reply "put your phone down"
